Bar Sol was an architectural and experiential design project developed for La Gallina de Oro for Cerveza Sol. The goal was to design a branded bar environment inspired by the identity of Sol beer.

The design followed the beer’s brand book and translated its values into space through color, light, vegetation, graphics, furniture, and material decisions. At the same time, the project needed to feel connected to Distrito Salvaje and the industrial character of Bogotá’s city center.

Starting point

The starting point was to create a bar that felt clearly connected to Cerveza Sol without becoming overloaded with logos. The brand presence had to be subtle, atmospheric, and spatial, using the identity of Sol as a design language rather than repeating the logo everywhere.

The site also required a balance between warmth and urban character. The bar needed to feel fresh, tropical, and inviting, while still keeping a modern industrial look that could belong naturally inside Distrito Salvaje.

Problem solving

The design strategy combined brand interpretation with architectural organization. I used the Sol brand book as a starting point to define the color palette, graphic accents, lighting mood, and material direction, then translated those elements into a spatial system.

The project was developed through a mixed workflow: SketchUp for the general architectural layout, Rhino for parametric and geometric elements, and Blender for final detailing, lighting, and rendering. Parametric work was used for specific pieces such as the sunburst feature, modular grids, and custom design elements that required precise dimensions for production.

The space was organized as a branded environment where vegetation, warm lighting, industrial grids, neon-style elements, and custom furniture worked together to create a complete bar atmosphere.

Implementation

The final proposal included the full architectural design of the bar: spatial layout, bar counter, brand wall, lighting elements, furniture distribution, vegetation placement, graphic pieces, modular grids, and custom decorative structures.

The design used Sol’s identity through a controlled visual system: warm red and yellow accents, sun-inspired lighting, blue industrial grids, tropical planting, and selected brand moments. The main logo appeared as a focal point, while the rest of the space carried the brand through atmosphere, materiality, and light.

Final visualization was completed in Blender, where the project was refined through lighting, textures, vegetation, furniture, and environmental details to communicate the full experience of the space before implementation.

Results

The project delivered a complete branded bar proposal that translated Cerveza Sol’s identity into a spatial experience. Instead of relying only on logo placement, the design created a full atmosphere through lighting, materials, furniture, vegetation, and architectural composition.

The result balanced three conditions: the sunny and relaxed character of Sol, the industrial context of Distrito Salvaje, and the operational needs of a hospitality/bar environment. It became a strong example of how architectural design, brand activation, parametric detailing, and visualization can work together in a real commercial project.
